Zoom and other Online Video Programs crash or freeze when using my Macbook Pro using macOS Ventura 13.4.1. I am connected to a 28" video monitor. When I use the laptop alone it works fine.

Do you get any error messages? Do you have the Macbook Pro in "clamshell" mode (lid closed) when using the external monitor? If so, and your Macbook Pro is a 13-inch model, it could be overheating. I've found all video-conferencing software runs up the internal temps on my Macbook Pro even without an external montor attached.
ANY useless anti-virus software or so-called "cleaning" apps can run up temps and cause performance and stability issues. I hope you have not installed any "fearware."

At this writing, the current version of MacOS Ventura is version 10.13.5, released 24 July 2023.
Please be sure you are using the latest version so that you are not spending your time and energy finding problems that have already been seen and solved.
