M2 Pro and Autodesk Maya

I want to buy the 14 inch macbook pro base, but I also use Autodesk Maya and I can not get a straight answer out of my research. So is a macbook pro M2 Pro with 16gb ram enough to create and render simple to medium scenes?

Here are the system requirements for Autodesk Maya 2024. Neither future versions of Maya nor MacOS will get smaller in storage or RAM requirements and these Apple Silicon Macs are not upgradable after purchase.

I suggest that you opt for the 32GB RAM option. Figure that Maya will want 16 GB RAM beyond what the operating system or other applications are using, and a base 16GB machine may not cut it. You might get by with that 512GB storage if you plan to use an external drive to offload big files to it. If it were me, I would do the internal 1TB drive too. Then you will need at minimum a 2TB external Time machine drive for backups.
