I just bought a mini mac and am new to apple. Should I install it on my mini mac?

No! macOS already has all the built-in security that you need.

see > macOS - Security - Apple

Third-party AV-ware, Clean-ware and VPN's, will do nothing except make the macOS slow, unstable or worse, completely unusable.
