It is disappointing to find out how difficult Apple makes it for me to downgrade my subscription plan for iCloud storage. It is never challenging to purchase services. But somehow I can't go from a $2.99 subscription to either a $.99 plan or even a free plan. Let's see if a get an answer from customer support. I feel frustrated and it is not about the $2.00 a month. I feel disrespected as a customer.

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

For some people "Done" does not show, in which case a person found this solution worked for them: iCloud Downgrade Lösung - Apple Community = 'Click on the same option you currently have, then click accept. Then go back to the selection window and select the downgrade you wish and click accept.'

Properly Downgrading iCloud:
1. Download All of iCloud, First:
Prior to downgrading, download all of iCloud. That way you do not lose any data, once downgrading.. Use my user tip: Getting a Quick and Direct "iCloud Drive-to-External Hard Drive" Download - User Tip
then...
2. Downgrade your iCloud Plan:
If you want to get less storage in iCloud, downgrading your iCloud plan is the way to go. Note that this has a monthly fee. Here is the link to user: iCloud+ Plans and Pricing - Apple Support. Note that this service is not available in all countries/regions.
I cannot complete the downgrade to the $0.99 subscription. I have read all the instructions, attempted several times on both my iPhone and surface laptop. I never get the link DONE to finalize transaction.
I did send note to Apple Support twice. Still waiting for a response.
