There is no "access" to upgrade an iPhone 6 Plus to iOS 17. That phone cannot even be updated to iOS 13.

There is also no "access" to upgrade an iPhone 6s Plus (the phone that is the topic of this thread) to iOS 17.

You can't upgrade an iPhone 6s Plus to iOS 16 or later. For that phone, the latest release of iOS 15 is the end of the line.

iPhone 6s Plus is supported through iOS 15, and no further.

A newer (used, refurb) or new iPhone is required for iOS 16.

iPhone SE 2nd, XR, XS, or newer is required for the upcoming iOS 17.
