Thanks for reaching out subyrp,

It sounds like you're having trouble connecting your Canon printer with your Mac. We can help.

We took a look, and it doesn't appear that the Canon LBP2900b printer is a compatible model with AirPrint. According to the About AirPrint article, Apple recommends the following:

With AirPrint technology, it's easy to print full-quality photos and documents from your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. AirPrint features include easy discovery, automatic media selection, and enterprise-class finishing options. The products listed here are provided by each manufacturer and are updated regularly by Apple. If you don't see your model, check with the manufacturer for more information.

Hope that helps.

Take care.

Hi,

Only Windows and Linux appear to be supported for this printer model.

Results from Search - Apple Community seem to indicate that workarounds for Mac may be possible, usually involving a patch. However, be careful! Generally speaking, it is not wise to get files from unknown sites. Always download from a trustworthy source, such as Apple or the printer manufacturer.

If necessary, and since CAPT drivers for Linux are available, one should perhaps not rule out that an experiment with an old (spare) PC running an earlier version of the free Ubuntu could be successful. The idea would be to connect the local USB printer to the PC (which would act as a print server), and then share this printer on a network. Ubuntu uses CUPS and understands Bonjour. Sharing a printer in Ubuntu should just require a few changed settings in the CUPS (web) interface. A Mac connected to the network may be able to see and use the shared printer. But as I said, this would be purely experimental. It may or may not work.

If nothing else works, you may just have to create PDF files (print to PDF) on the Mac computer and then transfer these files to a Windows or Linux PC for printing.

As always, make sure that you have backup copies of all important files before testing anything.
