I have the same problem as one of the commenters below. I want to crop out the center of the photo and bring the two sides together. The picture is of two birds on a branch. They sit far apart and I want to bring them together.

Then you will need a photo editor for that kind of work. Something like Photoshop elements. Search on the App Store.
Thanks to everyone for your advice. I went to the app store and asked for Photoshop Elements (now obsolete). What came up was Adobe’s Photoshop Express. It has excellent reviews, a 3-day trial period, and $35/year thereafter. I have never been a Photoshop user. It would be useful to hear from someone who has used it. If it doesn’t work, I’ll try the next suggestion.

Another powerful free/open source editing app is Gimp. It's on the level of Photoshop Elements but the user interface will require a bit of a learning curve.
