Magic keyboard delete button

Why can't I hold down the 'delete' button on my magic keyboard anymore? It just happened suddenly overnight. I have checked under keyboard functionality and the repeat rate is still set at Fast (which I believe was my config). Please help, TIA!

Is there a way to make F19 a delete key. When using the number pad portion of my Magic Keyboard it would be helpful to have delete function closer. Is there a way to make the F19 function key on my Magic Keyboard be a delete key? When using the numeric keys it would be helpful to have a delete key close by.
