it has a glyph on the standard US keyboard, and as John Galt says, it is above the comma key.

are you using a standard US keyboard?

are you using the US keyboard translation?

if not, please tell us what physical keyboard is installed, and what keyboard translation you use most of the time.

Since our discussion will be here for a long time, and other Readers may find it by searching for a similar problem, you MIGHT have been looking for a far more obscure symbol.

You can use 'Keyboard Viewer' to get a picture of your keyboard and try shift and control to see if you can spot the character you seek:

I feel really stupid about this now but I knew that I had used the symbol before on several occasions. Even scanning the keyboard slowly, (twice!) I failed to notice the <> keys between the M key the Q-mark key.

Only on my third tour of the keyboard did I finally spot it. Talk about hiding in plain sight!

Thank you for the answer to a question that I should never have needed to ask!
