Apple TV editing Fraggle Rock Original Episodes??

I'm watching Fraggle Rock (1983) Season 1 "The Challenge" and there is a scene deleted. Also they've replaced Boober's voice at the end of the theme with Gobo's voice "down at Fraggle Rock". Why would this be done? The scene removed is about Uncle Travelling Matt dumping water on a cigar smoker (hardly earth shattering stuff). I'm really concerned that there's some kind of censorship happening (but what for??). Can someone explain why a classic children's program would need to be "revised"??
