I tried everything they suggested in the help section, and nothing works. Also, Following their suggestions, I found out that some videos will open yet others will not, and will link directly to Facebook homepage.
Same issue. Updated to 17.0.3, deleted and reinstalled Messenger, shut down and restarted of the iPad, rebooted my router. Nothing I have tried helps. Obviously, Apple has a glitch in the software somewhere. Hopefully somebody will read this with a solution.

Anyone have similar issue? I CANNOT OPEN A MESSENGER VIDEO ON MY 2 iPADS. HOWEVER, i CAN OPEN IT ON MY 2 iPHONE.
when I click to play a video on Facebook Messenger (iPad 16.6) it takes me to Facebook home page rather than play the video: Why?
