Dust spot on macbook screen caused by Spacebar

I just noticed a dust spot on my MBP 14 screen, most likely caused by the spacebar key. I tried to clean it with water and an Apple polishing cloth, but I failed to remove it completely. Do you have any ideas on how to clean it thoroughly or any tips to prevent such a situation in the future?

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.6

Hey Ekn1,

Great job on the process you used to clean the screen of your MacBook Pro! It coincides with Apple’s recommendation: Clean your Mac computer’s screen or display - Apple Support. Note that only using water is recommended.

Apple does comment on being careful when you close the display of their laptops using any of these items:

  1. Using a camera cover, palm rest, or keyboard cover on a Mac notebook - Apple Support
  2. Don't close your MacBook, MacBook Air, or MacBook Pro with a cover over the camera - Apple Support
