Dock crashing because of moving application folder from finder to the dock and then to the trash.
Now I can't use the dock anymore and have to restart my computer. It is really annoying.
MacBook Air, macOS 13.4

Try running this command in the Terminal…
killall Dock
Then if the icon is still there, try control clicking on the icon and choose "Remove from Dock" from "Options".

It's not a bug as you're the first to experience it here.
Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?
Download and run Etrecheck. Be sure to give it Full Disk access before running.
Copy and paste the results into your reply. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.
Copy the report
and use the Additional Text button to paste the report in your reply.
Then we can evaluate the report to see if we can determine the cause of the problem.
Well restarting your computer fixes it but when I say crash I mean when you try to click on any part of the dock it won't respond. This is not really a major problem but it is a bug that apple should fix.
If everyone had the same problem then it would be a "bug". If not, it's a problem local to your Mac. Feel free to send Apple a bug report from the feedback page.
