iphone se 2nd gen (2020) dual sim?

I currently have an esim card in my iphone se 2nd gen. I want to switch it to a physical sim (from my old phone - also iphone se 2nd gen with the same phone number). Can I have both an esim and physical sim? Or do I need to delete the esim? If I delete the esim, will it erase anything (new contacts, photos, anything that has not been backed up) since I got new phone?
