Strange icon on facetime

When I was on facetime last night, I fell asleep with my bf and woke up to a strange icon instead of his camera/contact. I’ve never seen this before and I’m not sure what it means and can’t find anything about it online. It’s this green icon with an arrow that skips over and over again. Has anyone had this happen or know what it means?

Phone turns black when something is near camera on FaceTime So recently whenever I am on a FaceTime call and I have something near my camera (whether it’s a blanket or my finger dragging down the notification center), my phone screen turns black. This happens outside of the FaceTime app as if I’m on a phone call and the side of my face would be up against my phone. I don’t know if this is intentional.
