setting up 2 hdmi monitors

I have a 2019 16inch Macbook pro with 4 x usb3/Thunderbolt ports.

I have 2 x HDMI monitors which I am wanting to connect to have a dual display.

How do I connect these?, are there any special adapters I need, can I just use usb c to hdmi cable from 2 of the ports or do I use 1 port with some kind of adapter.

Could you Please help.

You can also do that, but ONLY with genuine Thunderbolt devices (Dock or First Display). It is not superior and is far more expensive, but leaves more Thunderbolt ports free for other uses. You can also change to that setup LATER.


Also, do not discount the very nice built-in display as a perfectly usable display at the same time as one or more external displays. Macs inherently support its use in Extended Desktop mode, if you prefer:
