Epson ET-3850 won’t AirPrint

Tried everything. All I can do is use Epson’s smart panel app. Can’t connect anything with AirPrint ( 2 iPads, 2 Macs, 2 iPhones). Can’t find a solution anywhere. Long winded YouTube posts that get me know where.

Epson’s site and manual were useless.

”No AirPrint Printers Found” is all I get.

someone needs to tell me why

Is a good article on things to look at. https://appletoolbox.com/airprint-not-working-fix-for-no-airprint-printers-found-on-ipad-ipod-iphone/

To make sure the Epson ET-3850 is configured for AirPrint, check the AirPrint Settings in the Web Admin tool. For the Epson ET-3850, I found that I had to connect to the printer's web administration tool to enable AirPrint. Using the IP address of the printer and the serial number in all uppercase, login to the admin tool https://<printerIP>/ for example: https://10.1.200.141 if that's your printer IP.

Click on the Administrator login button. The password for ET-3850 is the serial number in upper case.

Click on AirPrint Set-up.

Give it name that works for you and click "Enable AirPrint" button.

A ET-3850 was given to me and it would not air print. Reading this got me up and running in about 10 minutes.

Here are my suggestions.

At the printer.

Run a "Print Head Nozzle Check" this will. print out the serial number of the unit.

Goto Network status and print the Status Sheet" this will give you your IP address.

Mine was 10.0.0.80 this may be a default but I'm not sure.

This was the third line in the <TCP/IP IPv4> section.

With these two pieces of information you can access the Admin settings of the web tool.

Goto the a device that is on the same network with a web browser and enter in the IP Address as written.

This will open the web interface for the printer.

Click the Administrator Login button at the bottom of the list.

You will be prompted for a password and this will be your Serial Number. This will be listed as the first line on your

"Print Head Nozzle Check".

This will bring you back to the main menu, click "AirPrint Setup"

Click "Enable AirPrint" and "OK"

Wait a couple minutes fro everything to update.

If this was the issue you should now be good to go.

See if this article can help: Fix for "No AirPrint Printers Found" on iPad, iPod, iPhone - Apple Toolbox

Since you are not able to get any of your Apple devices to work with this printer, the issue could be your router's configuration. AirPrint requires that Bonjour (aka, the mDNS protocol) to not be blocked. Per chance does your local network include VLANs? If so, do you have this printer on a different VLAN from all of these network clients that you are trying to print from?
