MagSafe Duo charger does not show up in iOS Settings

MagSafe Duo charger does not show up in iOS Settings

I would like to make sure the latest firmware is installed on my MagSafe Duo charger. When I attach my Duo to an appropriate power supply (PD charger) and then connect my iPhone 14 Pro Max, the iPhone circle displays then the iPhone shows charging. Good so far.

Then I go into iOS settings, General | About and look for Duo - the Duo never shows up. This is unlike AirPods or event he Apple MagSafe Battery - these devices show up and allow you to see version of latest firmware. But unfortunatley the MagSafe Duo does not show up. Is the display of Duo settings just broken?

Ideas on next steps to take?

While it’s understandable and appreciated that you’d be concerned with keeping your devices up to date in whatever way you can, per our article How to use MagSafe Duo Charger with your iPhone and Apple Watch - Apple Support, updating the firmware of MagSafe Duo isn’t a user required step at this time.

if this is the case, then why does the documentation say there is firmware and that there are newer versions? I was able to upgrade firmware in my MagSafe Battery.

The MagSafe battery firmware upgrade actually improved the battery charging performance. I would question why an organization would invest in development to improve firmware without a good reason.

But going back to the original question, why doesn’t the MagSafe Duo show up in Settings when connected. Is the screenshot in the article fake? Or did Duo show up in Settings in an older iOS version and no longer does (maybe because as stated, it doesn’t matter - nothing to see here?).

Apologies for being a pest, but when things don’t add up, they don’t, well… you know.
