Homepod not connecting over Google Guest network (no peer to peer connections)

I moved a homepod and homepod mini to a new home with a Guest network set up using Google Internet. The mini shows up in the AirPlay speaker list and I can connect to it. The homepod does not. I reset my iPhone and the homepod appeared briefly but I could not connect to it. Then the next day it did not appear in the AirPlay speaker list. I have reset the Homepod and when I set it up again in Homekit it gave a message that I can't connect to it as the network does not have peer to peer access enabled. But I can use the homepod mini no problem.

Is there a setting in the Google wifi guest network that can enable peer to peer? I am not seeing it. Or is there a way I can reliably get the Homepod to appear in the AirPlay speaker list?

Thanks all.

Peer to peer communications are required to set up HomePod and change settings. Once set up you could change the settings of the HomePod such that it can accept ad-hoc connections from iOS devices when using a guest network. See Play audio on HomePod using an iOS or iPadOS device - Apple Support and allow playback by everyone. Are you able to connect to the non-Guest network?
