I added an Apple ID how do I switch my phone over to my account
Trying to get my own Apple ID on my phone created a new I’d put can’t get it to switch over to mine

Why not? What happens when you try?
There’s 4 places on an iPhone where you need to sign in with your new Apple ID.
Settings ➡️ Messages ➡️ Send & Receive
Settings ➡️ Facetime ➡️ Caller ID
Settings ➡️ Apple ID (scroll to the bottom to sign out) You will need the password for this one.
Settings ➡️ Apple ID ➡️ Media & Purchases.
Do note, that any purchases made with the previous Apple ID, will remain tied to the Apple ID that made them and in the case of Apps, they will always require it to update. You need to delete them, and re-download them with the new Apple ID.
Also, if this is a used iPhone, and you don’t know the password for the old Apple ID, you won’t be abel to sign out.
