Does Apple iPad 9th gen truly exist?

While listing my iPad 9th gen for sale on Facebook Marketplace I came across a box asking for a more precise “Device Name” The choices were every iPad I’ve heard of before; accept mine. It had selections for Apple IPad minis 1 through 5, iPad Airs 1 through 5, iPad Pros 1 through 4. And finally just Apple iPad 1st Gen through 8th Gen.

The problem is I have, or thought I had, was told I bought the Apple iPad 9th (NINTH) generation.

I do not wish to deceive a potential buyer, can anyone explain the reason 9th gen is not a choice? It’s been out over 2 years now?

Thank you kindly for any replies.

Yes, the ninth generation iPad (a.k.a., iPad9) is very much a current model.

Third-party “marketplace” and other websites are entirely outside of Apple’s sphere of control - and as such, may not be up to date with available device models, or may just be fundamentally wrong.

To ensure that you are providing appropriate information, consider outlining all pertinent specifications within your listing - emphasising the model name and associated model number (Settings > General > About).

If you intend to sell-on or part with your iPad, ensure that you have properly reset/erased the iPad before it leaves you. Proper preparation protects the security of your data and your account - and ensures that the iPad is in a known state before it leaves your possession. This also ensures that the device is ready for setup by is new owner - and removes any possibilities for dispute, at a later time, regarding its state when received.
