Windows 10 bonjour service not finding airplay devices after waking up from sleep mode

As the title says, the bonjour service stops working properly after windows 10 laptop wakes up from sleep. This results in the software not being able find Airplay devices (software like iTunes or tuneblade). After a reboot, the bonjour service will work properly again, and it can find the Airplay devices.

There have been reports of this before, like this: itunes AirPlay icon disappearing until re… - Apple Community

, but it seems Apple hasn't come up with a solution so far.

But, luckily, I think I have found a work around that doesn't require a reboot, so I'm writing this to help other people that have this problem:

  • Start up the Services app (type Services in the Windows search box), or services.msc.
  • In the list of services look for the Bonjour Service.
  • Before putting your machine to sleep, right click the Bonjour service and click "stop".
  • Now you can put your machine to sleep.

For waking up, you do the opposite:

  • Wake up machine.
  • Start up services app (or just leave it open before you put the machine to sleep), so you can skip this step
  • In the list of services look for the Bonjour Service.
  • Right click the Bonjour service and click "start".

And that's it!
