Apple CarPlay audio drop outs on phone calls/defaulting to Spotify when streaming video
Apple CarPlay in my 2019 Camry has been comically terrible.
First issue is audio drop outs during phone calls and complaints that I’m also cutting out on the other caller’s end. I switch to regular bluetooth connection and everything is totally fine. My girlfriend and I have never said “what” more in our lives.
The other is if I’m watching a video (I’m parked, calm down.) and go to adjust the volume, it automatically switches to Spotify audio. (90% of the time, the video is quieter than Spotify, so when Spotify kicks in, I get blown up and I consider getting out and walking and leaving the car and the keys right there.)
Is there a software update that might solve these problems? How would one even do a software update? I’m not sure I can fit my car inside the house to plug into my iMac. I’m sure I can figure that part out. But any other suggestions are welcome! Thanks!
