I noticed I was not connected to my home Wi-Fi with my iPhone / showed it was paused and the network said captive.apple.com? My network is Xfinity / I understand the purpose is a subscription for hotspots or to be used on public Wi-Fi. I did not sign up for and have been hacked for a year and a half off and on. How do I disable this ?

Check for your dns. Mine was set to manual…when I set it to auto, I did not have this problem anymore. I kept getting a demand for a password with the captive.apple.com page myself. I hope this may be your answer
This fixed my problem with this. I had no internet connection unless I put my password in AGAIN after connecting to my home router(or so I thought). I kept getting the captive.apple.com page over and over again. My issue was my DNS. It was set to manual and once I set it to AUTO it was fine. I hope this is your issue and fixes it for youS
