Setting notification to login

I got a notification in my settings in red that I may not be able to use some of my apps or services (sorry cant remember the exact terms ). I entered my password , then my 6 digit phone security code and it also asked me for my old 4 digit code which I did and went into my setting but there was no further message . Was this a scam and if so what can i do to secure my information ?
