Using the Contacts app, I try to drag a contact into one of my lists in the sidebar. It does not highlight or get added to that list. So, I go to my iCloud account, and I AM ABLE drag it into the list. Why does it work using the web app, but not on my desktop? How do I solve this? I'm guessing its a permissions issue, but don't know where to correct it.

Thanks so much...that fixed it! (Went to System Settings > (Me) > iCloud > (Show All) > toggled Contacts off then back on.)

Sign out of iCloud and back in or try unchecking Contacts in iCloud and make cahnge to your local Mac and compare your results...
re-enable Contacts in iCloud and try again
