My 5th Gen iPad Air will not back-up to iCloud due to “poor network conditions” however the network is working for other Apple devices

I am also encountering this issue on my iPad. There are 7 other Apple devices (iPhones & iPads) in the house that are successfully backing up to iCloud over this network so I find it hard to believe it is a problem with the network. I have plenty of iCloud storage available. I am using the latest XFinity router. I have also completed a hard reset on the iPad, reset the network settings, and signed out and back into iCloud. None of these solved the issue with this iPad. In addition, this iPad seemed to have an issue performing its latest iOS update and I was forced to connect it to a computer to complete. The Wi-Fi/internet seems to be working fine on the device and speed tests show very good download & upload speeds (600mbps download/40mbps upload). It is a 5th generation iPad Air. What else could be causing this issue?

Hello USS_Pete1,

If the error is about a network condition, the easiest way to isolate the issue is to try using the device on a different Wi-Fi network to see if the same issue occurs there or not.

If you have any type of security or VPN applications enabled on the device, try disabling those.

If you haven't already, try restarting the Wi-Fi router you have this iPad connected to.

If the error persists, you'll want to contact Apple to report the issue with iCloud: Get Support

Cheers!
