iCloud restore didn't carry over UI/preferences/accessibility settings/apps/etc

I had lost my iphone and it's now offline and cannot be located. Got a new iphone and restored from icloud. My photos, contacts, calendar, are all back on the new phone.

But no other settings carried over. Like the way everything looked. The language preferences. Any of my old apps. Curiously, when I go to the apple store and search for an app I had on the old phone, it shows up with the little cloud icon with a down pointing arrow.

But the icloud backup restore didn't transfer any of the apps over or the way the phone looks. Only photos, contacts, calendar, etc.

Why is this? Thank you.

Hi mykhaylo292,

You mentioned you restored your new iPhone from an iCloud backup. When you restore from the backup, this option restores all settings that were set up on your previous iPhone, essentially restoring the new iPhone to a replica of the previous iPhone. You can try restoring your iPhone from the last iCloud backup your previous iPhone made. You will need to erase your new iPhone first in order to complete this step. Keep in mind if you have made any changes to your new iPhone or created a new backup, you won't be able to access this information after erasing. If you'd like to erase and restore the iCloud backup again, please follow the steps below:

Use Settings to erase iPhone
1. Go to Settings  > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone.
2. Do one of the following:

* Prepare your content and settings to transfer to a new iPhone: Tap Get Started, then follow the onscreen instructions. When you finish, return to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.

* Erase all of your data from iPhone: Tap Erase All Content and Settings.

This is from the iPhone user guide: Erase iPhone - Apple Support

Then you can follow each step here to restore a backup from iCloud:

Restore iPhone from an iCloud backup

1. Turn on a new or newly erased iPhone.
2. Do one of the following:

* Tap Set Up Manually, tap Restore from iCloud Backup, then follow the onscreen instructions.

This information is from Restore all content to iPhone from a backup - Apple Support.

As long as your apps were backed up to iCloud and the app developer allows iCloud backups, the data within your apps will be restored from your previous iPhone backup.

If you're still missing data after those steps, refer to the guidance here: About missing information after you restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iCloud Backup - Apple Support

Cheers.
