I have followed instructions to change my apple ID. For some reason the change isn't being made. Please help.

When I try to change my notification email I get this pop up. When I go to the laptop or phone there is no option there to change the notification email

I have the same problem. When I try to change or remove the email address listed under “Notification Email”, I get a pop up telling me I need to continue on one of my devices. I have tried this but when I access Apple ID on my iPhone I cannot find an option to change the Notification Email at all. Any ideas?

I can do it using Chrome. Strange that Safari having problem with this.

Spent hours on this and the fix was easy - log in to the Apple ID website to delete the notification email using Chrome browser - when I tried (dozens of times) on Safari, got an error message. Worked first time on Chrome.

Instead of point 5 I get a message like: "Continue on another of your devices". But nothing happens there - neither in the settings nor anywhere else. I also do not receive a code on the new e-mail address. And there is no field anywhere for the code.

Where is that elusive "edit" button or whatever it's called? In the "Sign-in and Security" section, the word "edit" appears nowhere on the page. Also, your documentation says there should be a field for "notification email" or "rescue email". Nowhere to be found.

Where can I find up-to-date information that matches appleid.apple.com?

Here's how you change the email address (Apple ID) you use for your Apple Account while retaining everything in your account:

1. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign in.

2. In the Sign-In and Security section, choose Apple ID.

3. Enter the email address that you want to use as your Apple ID.

4. Choose Change Apple ID.

To change a notification email address:

On the https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage page, scroll down to the security section. Then, click the edit option. When you do, you will see an option for the notification email.

If you are, and you are having problems, you will need to describe those in more detail. We only know what you tell us.

Chrome also works for me, safari does not.

Chrome worked. Weird that you can't make these changes in Safari. Thanks for the fix, people!

Had the same problem. I Logged out from appleid on MAC and relogged to appleid (in Safari) with an

alternate e-mail address also associated with the apple-id. Then I could change my notification

email. Finally changed my default apple-id email. But the notification-email had to be different

that the default appleid email. I hope this helps

To change your notification email, log into your Apple ID, go to sign in and security, click on email notification, scroll down, and edit or delete the email notification.

I tried multiple times in Safari with Mac and with iPhone but no luck. Chrome worked like a charm.

Same here - I had a notification that someone changed my notification email - it was almost the same but one character different to my actual address. I got this same message when I tried changing it.

I solved this by not letting it sign me in using Face ID- I manually entered my Apple ID and password - then it worked!
