AirPrint stopped working on iPhone

Go to settings, security, vpn and turn to off. You may have two that need to be turned off (one personal). Then click on the (i) for Norton or the program that is supplying your vpn and turn off CONNECT ON DEMAND. Done! I can print from my phone again! I saw this info from someone else in the community. A big thank you to them!!!!!

I was having the same problem. I disabled VPN on my Norton App and disabled con on my settings. I was then able to connect to my canon printer and print. I then enabled my Norton VPN and again I was not able to select my printer. I repeated the process from the start and again I was able to select the printer. I noticed a message that said that I did not need to enable Norton’s VPN because VPN was active on the router. I hope this helps.

I was surprised to see there was already a 17.3 iOS update. My phone is set to install these automatically but apparently it had not. I ran it yesterday, it did take a while to install, and now it recognizes my printer just fine again.

That solved my problem and took less than 3 minutes to follow your instructions on the front panel of my Canon MF232w printer (including download and installation time)! For others reading this, I previously could print from my iPhone to my Canon printer until I upgraded to IOS17, then the printer would appear on my iPhone, but would not stay selected to allow printing.

After updating the Canon firmware, the printer restarted and I could immediately print from my iPhone. I did not have to make any changes to the iPhone during this process.

MY PROBLEM SOLVED! (with Firmware Update)

Easy steps to solve for those who have Canon MF230 series printer:

1. Press MENU
2. Select System Management Setting
3. Select Firmware Update
4. Select update Via Internet
5. and pray that it will work....Hahahaha!

Update: just updated to 17.3 and the issue is fixed for me. iPhone 11, 17.2 —> 17.3, Brother HL-3170CDW

We have been experiencing the same issue. We tried all of the fixes recommended in this chain and nothing worked. I then updated my iOS to 17.3 AND ALSO updated the firmware on my Canon MF260 and ...... it worked!

I am on this thread with the same issue since updating to iOS 17. Someone posted that they updated firmware to the printer and it fixed it for them. I just did a firmware update and I can now print. Issue resolved finally, thank goodness

Today I find out the same issue, my ip 13, 17.2.1 can not select canon printer MF264dw. But when I change IPv4 address setting auto acquire on canon printer from OFF to ON, i can print from my iphone but can not print from my laptop because IP changes so ofter. Dont know what is happening?

The same happened to my iPhone and Mac after a recent system update. However, I’m able to print using the Cannon app. This can be a temporary solution before Apple fixes the issue.

Just updated mine to 17.2.3 and it’s working again. Alternately, my HP printer has an email address I can email print jobs to and that was working to print items from my iPhone during this mishap.
