AirPrint stopped working on iPhone

I’ve tried printing several things from my iPhone to my Canon printer. I have always been able and to do it before. All of a sudden it’s saying “No Air Print Printers Found”. I’ve read several things, including, make sure that you are on the same Wi-Fi as your printer, and try restarting your modem and/or printer. Well, I have someone in the same house, with the exact same phone (iPhone 13), is on the exact same Wi-Fi network, and can print to the printer just fine. It has to do some thing with my phone or the settings. Oh, and I can print from my iPad the exact same document without issue. What’s wrong with my phone. Suggestions?

Go to settings, security, vpn and turn to off. You may have two that need to be turned off (one personal). Then click on the (i) for Norton or the program that is supplying your vpn and turn off CONNECT ON DEMAND. Done! I can print from my phone again! I saw this info from someone else in the community. A big thank you to them!!!!!

Hi,

It would probably be correct to assume that you have one of the AirPrint-enabled Canon printer models (About AirPrint - Apple Support).

You mentioned restarting your modem and/or printer. Have you tried the following full procedure in the order described, including the waiting times?

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, any iPhones, iPads, Macs, and all other computers and devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on all iPhones, IPads and Macs. Finally, power on all other computers and devices.

Similarly was unable to air print to my Canon g6020 printer following iOS 17 updates to my iPhone 15 pro and iPad Pro 11. Tried updating printer firmware to no avail. Finally decided to try a new NETGEAR Nighthawk xr1000 router in place of the Xfinity provided Arris xb7 modem/router combo. Used the same modem but bridged to the new Nighthawk router. Problem solved, can now AirPrint from both iPhone and ipad

Well…. If it’s working for your girlfriend’s phone and the iPad, let’s take a look at your phone- what’s the difference here? What OS is it running? Is it the same, earlier, or later? Any new apps that you’ve installed? What is your model phone and your GF? And it’s October…. Had a weird iPhone yesterday that came in that I swear was possessed… wouldn’t hook up to WIFI, wouldn’t update to current OS, and wouldn’t relinquish the SIM to a new iPhone 15 for an eSIM by being close to each other. Sometimes tech breaks. Keep us posted. Can the phone print anywhere else?

For AirPrint, using Bonjour/mDNS, it is important that every device is correctly recognised and handled by the router. It is quite possible that only one device is not working while the others are OK. Thus the suggestion to go through the complete power-cycle sequence. It may or may not work. Therefore, again, my question, have you tried this? If not, and if you already know the answer to your own question, there is not much I can add.

iphone 12 SUDDENDLY cannot recognize canon mf320 printer after apple's latest update..... works fine from other iphone in the house and works fine from all computers..... apple simply says to reboot, blah blah..... canon says it is apple's end....

it is frustrating..... i did mange to turn off all future updates from apple.... apple no longer allows reversal of a recent update.... apple tech says to contact printer manufacturer and printer folks say contact apple....
