This happened to me last night! I googled "How to take out sim card' took it out and placed it back in & it worked!
Put a SIM card in it...
If you have a SIM card in it, and it's not working, contact your cellular carrier and get a replacement.
If you're getting a message that says you have an Invalid SIM, that means the phone is carrier locked. Only the carrier it's locked to can unlock it.
Install a nanoSIM or eSIM (only on newer phones) which has been provisioned by a mobile carrier.

My phone won’t let me turn on cellular data on and it says sos and no sim
If you do not have a cellular plan – which "NO SIM" would seem to indicate – that is to be expected. Carriers do not give away cellular phone, text message, and data service for free. No pay, no play.
If you do have a cellular plan, but are getting the "NO SIM" message anyway, contact your phone company, and ask them for help in getting to the bottom of the matter.
If the phone is saying "SOS" as well as "NO SIM", you might be able to place emergency calls for life-and-death emergencies where you need to contact police, the fire department, or an ambulance. (Some countries require carriers to put through these calls even if the people making them are not valid, paying customers.)
Perhaps videos will work better.
Your phone MUST have a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) from your carrier installed in order to place and receive calls.
For nanoSIMs:

and for eSIMs:
Contact your carrier as noted in this thread.
iPhone Telephony 101:
A Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) is required in every iPhone; or else it’s just a shiny handheld computer.
The SIM - which is provided separately by a carrier of your choosing - is what makes in a “phone.”
It means you have no cellular service.
Contact your carrier for help.

It means that there is no SIM installed.
