Change/set default output for calls on Apple CarPlay

I wear hearing aids connected to my iPhone 14 ProMax. When I receive a call, my hearing aids are the default output. I have 2 vehicles with wireless CarPlay. When I receive a phone call while connected to CarPlay, the audio used to automatically come through my car speakers. 2022 Honda and 2022 Acura.

The sound now comes through my hearing aids unless I manually change the sound source on my phone with each call.

Is there a way to set up the sound to automatically come through my car speakers? I’ve looked through the settings on both cars and on my phone and can’t find anything.

Hello Ipayu,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

Currently there isn't a way to set a default output device on your iPhone.

If this's something you'd like to see added in the future, you can submit that feedback to Apple here: Product Feedback - Apple

Cheers!
