MacBook Pro chimes but doesn’t switch on

Every time I hit the on off button my MacBook Pro chimes as usual but then doesn’t actually switch on

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.14

Macbook sometimes plays a single beep It's just one loud beep. I think it MIGHT indicate an update is available, but I'm not sure. Is there a way to turn it off if that is the reason?

2020 MacBook Pro chimes repeatedly when closed 2020 MacBook Pro, Intel I5 Processor, doing the Battery 100% Charged Chime repeatedly when the clamshell is closed. It does not do it any other time. It has an Apple 87W power adapter and I have done a SMC Reboot as well as ran Apple Diagnostics and it came back with no errors.

Hi,

If your MacBook Pro has Intel processor, resetting SMC could solve your issue.

Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support
