My expect delivery date keeps changing as that date approaches. Why?

I ordered an iPad Pro 11 on August 3rd. The expected delivery date was the 6th. But as that date approached it was changed to the 8th. Then when the 8th approached the date changed to the 10th. This delay cycle has happened several times with no explanation from Apple for the continued delay. Does someone know what’s really going on?
