I reset my password recently because I kept getting a message that my password was incorrect. Even after resetting my password and typing it in correctly it still gives me the "incorrect password" message.

Even though I reset my Apple ID password successfully when I use my new password it still gives me a message that my password is incorrect. Also, I keep getting "Unable to verify account name or password" when attempting to fix or update my email account associated with my Apple ID account. Please advise.

Hi Cooldaddydirtpile,

Do you happen to have more than one Apple ID? If so, make sure you haven't reset the password for a different Apple ID, as this could cause the issue you've described. Also, make sure there isn't a typo in the password you're entering. Passwords are case-sensitive, so confirm that caps lock isn't enabled when entering your password.

If you're having trouble changing your Apple ID email, verify you're following the steps outlined in this resource: Change your Apple ID

1. Go to appleid.apple.com and sign in.
2. In the Sign-In and Security section, choose Apple ID.
3. Enter the email address that you want to use as your Apple ID.
4. Choose Change Apple ID.
5. If you changed your Apple ID to a third-party email address, check your email for a verification code, then enter the code. Learn what to do if you didn't get the email.
6. If you use services like iCloud or Messages to share with friends and colleagues, sign in to those services with your updated Apple ID.

Also, whenever you change either your Apple ID email address or your Apple ID password, you’ll need to sign out of the Apple services listed in this article using your old id and/or password, and sign in with your new information: What to do after you change your Apple ID or password - Apple Support. We recommend performing this steps on all of the devices you’re signed in on.
