Emergency Bypass no longer working

I keep my phone in silent mode and have always had certain contacts set up as favorites with Emergency Bypass, allowing their calls to ring in silent mode. This has no longer worked now for a couple of months. WHY?

Emergency Bypass Not Working Hello, Ever since the iOS 16 update the Emergency Bypass on my iPhone 11 is not working. Today I missed an emergency call from a family member. I have tried everything listed in previous community postings to fix this issue, including all of Apples suggestions. This problem happens with the Emergency Bypass I have set up for different contacts for both ring and text tone. I have a family member with a serious health issue so this matter is extremely important to me. Please advise. Thank you.

Communicate with a Contact in Silent Mode I put my phone in silent/do not disturb mode while I'm at work and when I sleep. My family frequently sends me texts or calls to say hi during these windows because we're all on different shifting schedules. This is totally fine and I see these non-urgent communications whenever I'm done working / sleeping. However, if there's ever an emergency during a time when I have my phone on silent/do not disturb, I want my family to reach me. It seems the only solution to this is to enable "Emergency Bypass On" for these contacts. However, this would mean I hear all the day-to-day non-emergency communications from these people all the time, which is not helpful. Any suggestions of how to make myself reachable in an emergency when I have my phone on silent/do not disturb mode?

Emergency Bypass ringtone/text tone setting in Contacts keeps resetting I turn my phone's ringer off at the office, and Do Not Disturb switches on at bed time, so I have enabled Emergency Bypass for important contacts. It always works for a few days, sometimes longer, and then I miss calls from my wife, our children's school, or my mother's nursing home, and I discover that all of these contacts have reverted back to Default. I re-enable each of them again, but that only works for a while. I'm at a loss and have had to set a reminder to periodically check the settings on these contacts so I don't miss an important call. My phone's iOS is 16.3.1, but I also had this problem in the last version. I can't be the only one! If anyone has a solution, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We would like to clarify. Are you referring to Do Not Disturb? If so, you can add people by following the steps below:

Use Do Not Disturb with Focus on your iPhone or iPad

1. Go to Settings > Focus.

2. Tap Do Not Disturb.

3. You can select allowed or silenced notifications from people and apps, connect your Lock Screen or Home Screen, have this Focus turn on automatically, and add Focus filters.

If you mean something different please let us know. For example, there is alerting your emergency contacts when using Emergency SOS on your iPhone:
