Emoji and mic shortcuts is taking too much space of screen although its given at bottom

i don't know if anyone has expressed concern about this but keyboard takes to much to much space of the bottom screen, literally 0.5 inches and only thing it has emoji shortcut on left and mic on right, i mean why??

can i remove it?

iPhone 5s, iOS 12
