Can't get soft ware for HP printer so I can scan to my MacBook, says I need a sw helper password? What do I need to do??? I need to do some scanning & can't!!!!

The HP ENVY Photo 7155 All-In-One Printer is an AirPrint-supported model (About AirPrint - Apple Support) and should not need additional drivers/software, provided that the printer and the Mac are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router). Is it not possible to scan via Apple's Image Capture?

AirPrint isn’t a scanner driver. It is just printing. The Image Capture Architecture (ICA) driver is required to scan via Image Capture. The manufacturers do not always call it that in the driver downloads.

Yes, this can be confusing. Some manufacturers do not mention anything specific about a driver, or include it in a scanner software download. Others may provide a separate ICA driver download, even for AirPrint-supported models. The Set up a scanner to use with Mac – Apple Support (UK) article probably does not make it easier ("If you have a multifunction AirPrint printer and scanner, you don’t need to check for software updates.").
