Installing ssd
Installing Samsung 500 GB SSD drive on my Mac mini elite 2014 I’m trying to erase and format to a PFS. Alf’s is not offered. Only Mac OS extended (journaled).

High Sierra is the 1st macOS to support APFS.
Change "View" to "Show All Devices" in Disk Utility. Then select the top level of the drive to format. GUID partition map must 1st be selected, then APFS format should be available.
