Duplicated data within an iCloud contact

Initial problem(s) started with iCloud "losing" more than 200 contacts. I recovered a file from a rarely accessed iPad. Now individual contacts show address, phone number and/or email address duplicated within the contact. After deleting the duplicated data from the contact using Outlook 2022 on a laptop, the duplicated data reappears later. My settings are set to store contacts on iCloud versus individual iPhones, iPad or laptop/desktop. Apple support is trying to assist but without success.
