Apple Watch & iPad

I would like to know why its not possible to setup an apple watch to an iPad. As a parent I want my children to be able to communicate with me however I do not want my children to have smart phones. They both have apple watches with phones lines as well as iPads, as 10 & 13 year old children they lack the ability to determine when they've had enough screen time, which is why I purchased them watches. When they've had enough screen time I simply take away the ipads. As parents who are part of the apple ecosystem we want the watches to be able to work with the ipads so that way our children can track their fitness goals etc. Many of the apps do not work properly because the watch is synced through my phone for example I cannot get youtube music to work with out having a separate phone dedicated to their watch.

Let me make this clear - I will not be purchasing an iphone or any smart phone for my children until they're at least 16. I do not want them to be a part of the non-sense social media scene where they are overly concerned about what everyone else thinks, or tempted to do something stupid because of a tiktok challenge. They have enough exposure to it as it is and I will not be handing over a device that will give them 24 hour access because they need a phone to call etc. I know that other parents feel exactly the same way. I shouldn't be forced (nor will I) to purchase a separate phone to utilize the watch to the full extent. So as company you need to figure out a way to keep the parents who are willing to pay for these devices in your thoughts when designing them.

If you want to charge more fine, but come out with one that will work with an ipad and I (along with many other parents) would happily buy it.
