Trouble sharing/collaborating with the Notes App

I’ve made sure both parties are connected to iCloud, our IOSs are current, the notes aren’t locked, we have plenty of storage. Both parties have Apple. I can receive collaborations but not send. I have deleted the app and reinstalled. Could anyone please help me?

Upgrade your Notes? iCloud upgrade? For the first time I am trying to share (receive) a Note from another person. (FWIW, I'm using an iPhone SE 2nd Gen, iOS 16.1.1) Up to this time I have used Notes on my iPhone (just on my iPhone) without any problems. Now, for sharing, I enabled Notes in Settings > iCloud > Show All > Notes. All seemed fine. But when I try to open the Note that my trainer texted to me I get the following message: Upgrade Your Notes To open shared notes, you'll need to upgrade your iCloud account. Does this mean I have to upgrade to a PAID iCloud plan (iCloud+) just to share Notes?

Unable to share Apple Notes with someone who doesn’t have an Apple ID Device: iPhone 14 Pro Max iOS Version: 18.1.1 Issue: Unable to share an Apple Notes folder with someone who doesn’t have an Apple ID. Steps Taken: 1. Long-press the folder in Apple Notes. 2. Select Share. 3. Choose Anyone With the Link. 4. Set permissions to View Only. 5. Copy the link. Tested: • Pasted the link into Brave Browser and Safari. • Both return an Apple webpage asking the user to sign in or create an Apple account. The intention is to share the folder with non-Apple users, but the link prompts for an Apple ID. Question: Why is this not working as expected? Is sharing with non-Apple users supported in this way? Shared notes not updating on iPhone 17 pro My wife and I have been sharing notes for years and now when she updates a shared note, it will not update on my phone. The only way it works if we are both on the shared note at the same time. If I delete the note and she reshares it, I get the old unedited note! I googled this issue and tried several fixes with no improvement. I have tried the following: restarted phone switched notes in iCloud on and off created a brand new shared note tried different networks and cell data extremely frustrating! thanks in advance
