How to unlock unsupported Notes

We understand you're receiving a message that a note is unsupported when trying to access a locked note in the Notes app. Is that correct?
If you're trying to read the note on a device with iPadOS, this may be because the passcode feature in iOS/iPadOS 16 or macOS Ventura. These allow for both device passcode & a separate passcode.
You can test this by going to the note on your device with iOS or iPadOS 16 and then Settings > Notes > Password and selecting "Use Custom Password" instead of "Use Device Passcode".
