Safari Google search crash

Whenever I attempt to type "acadia birding" into the google search bar, my Safari crashes. Using Safari 16.5.1 on a MacBook pro using Big Sur OS. All other searches are fine. It crashes on the "d" in bird. If I type something else in front of the acadia - it works fine. I was trying to look up some info on the acadia birding festival. I can reboot, restart, clear history, ... nothing helps. More of an annoyance than a real problem - but very weird.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.7

This longstanding bug seems to have a common cause — "Safari Suggestions".
