Need help preparing my MacBook for recycling My Macbook battery is dead and it will not charge at all when I plug it in. I want to recycle the MacBook but there is no way to erase the data. What should I do to protect myself and my linked data?

MacBook no longer takes charge. Need to do a wipe as returning to 'amazon. In sort of a Catch 22, my used Macbook, purchased through Amazon quit working after four days (won't do that again). Amazon will take it back but I need to have enough power to wipe the Macbook clean. Any ideas? I do have an idential Mac of my own. Maybe switch batteries though being techno impaired it is scary.

Properly Disposing:

Take this to an e-waste disposal center. Having expended, this has become a health hazard, due to hazardous material.
