Can ipad Magic Keyboard pair with Mac Laptop?

Magic keyboard of IPad folio has bluetooth support. Can it pair with mac laptop as well?

A Magic Keyboard for iPad is not compatible with Mac or any other computer; the Magic Keyboard for iPad can only be used with a compatible iPad.


The Magic Keyboard for iPad is entirely dependent upon the iPad for its function. This keyboard has neither an internal battery, nor Bluetooth to communicate with the host device - but instead connects using the magnetic Smart Connector contacts shared by the iPad and matching Magic (or Smart folio) keyboard.

If instead you have a standalone Magic Keyboard, designed for Mac, this type of keyboard does use Bluetooth to connect with a Mac or iPad. This article from iMore describes how:
