OSX Bug? Cannot enter certain special characters requiring [space] into password fields

I cannot enter certain special characters that require [shift] + button + [space] into password field IF the password is masked. The characters are being entered correctly if I choose to show the password. This happens with OSX password prompts and every single application that use the character-masking password-field component. The problem occurs only with "accent"-type special characters like "^", "`" that require pressing [space] after entering the character.

The same problem occurs on any type of keyboard: I have tried Macbook's own keyboard, an external Magic Keyboard and a PC USB keyboard.

This seems an OSX bug to me, but maybe there is an odd default setting screwing this up.

I use Finnish keyboard and System settings -> Keyboard -> Input sources is set to "Finnish".

Yes, I use [shift] + ^. In normal text field it does require a space since it is an accent character meant to complement the next character like this.

[shift] + ^ + e ==> ê

But in password field mode doing [shift] + ^ + [space] will output just [space]. Without the space, it does not output anything. Bizarre. I try the Apple Feedback. Thanks
