Titanium Apple Card does not offer Tap-To-Pay with the physical card. You need to use an iPhone or Apple Watch to use Tap-To-Pay/Apple Pay. Cards that offer Tap-To-Pay will display this symbol.
Apple Card’s are solid titanium and Near Field Communication (NFC) is required for Tap-To-Pay. Solid metal interferes with the NFC antenna.

Please remove the card from your Wallet, restart your iPhone, and then add Apple Card back to your Wallet app. The issue is the expiration date used for the year. Currently it’s a 2 digit number for month and year. It now requires a 2 digit month and 4 digit year. Removing the card and then adding it back will update the date in the correct format.
You do have to bring the phone back to the device a second time. You are telling the phone it's on, then the phone needs to tell the POS it's ok.

Your issue appears to be different. Is the issue happening at all merchants or have you only tried it at one merchant?
It’s been happening at all merchants (grocery store, vet, hardware store). But it’s only with the Apple Card. I got gas with my Citi card with Apple Pay and it worked just fine.
this is not helpful because it’s the phone that is not working. Both my phone and watch will recognize my face and say the payment connected with the icon turning into a check mark. But the merchant’s screen shows an error and payment does not go through.
Thanks Jeff! I’ll give that a try!
It certainly sounds like the issue that is currently affecting Apple Card Users.
