On macOS Ventura, Apple has eliminated the opening of .eps, and .ps file types in Preview. The free Skim PDF reader can display these files by converting them (in the Reader) to PDF. The originals remain unchanged.

.eps is “Encapsulated PostScript”, a (mostly) vector-based image format, which makes it size/resolution independent, which is excellent for logos. These files are made with Adobe Illustrator and similar applications. Several other vector drawing applications can also export as .eps, but may not read .eps exactly the same as originally saved by other applications.

On Mac, the bundled Preview app can read .eps files, by in-memory conversion to PDF.
